Quentin Tarantino Interviewed on The Treatment

Director and Screenwriter: Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is known for movies that are of a violent nature and the unpredictability of the outcomes, such as the films Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Inglorious Bastards just to name a few.  Quentin Tarantino is a film actor, director, and screenwriter.   The date of this interview with Quentin Tarantino was February 17, 2016.
The interview with Quentin Tarantino covered a good explanation of a movie that he wrote and directed that was releasing at the time called The Hateful Eight.  I was surprised that he was the writer and director.  He also seemed very passionate about his work.  On the other hand, it seemed like it was more fun than work for him.  In addition, he seems to really like having the control of trying to create violence and unpredictability in his movies.
One quote from Tarantino was in regards to the movie called The Hateful Eight, and it was “There should be no hero to this piece.”  I think this was very noteworthy due to the fact that he was trying to give a clue about his style of directing.  For me this indicated that he was trying to be different in his style of directing.  From this quote one can see how it leads to the unpredictability nature of the style he has and is known for in the film world.

The second quote that seems to be of noteworthiness is when he says, “There should be no moral center.”  This is also a reference to the development of The Hateful Eight.  This really is hitting the core values of what he seems to like to create.  When there is no moral center; obviously, there is going to be a violence.  Tarantino seems to like violence by creating the character with no moral center.
The third quote that really shows his style is when he says, “There should be nobody for the audience to gravitate towards.”  This is an additional comment about The Hateful Eight movie he created.  This reveals where he starts from in his mind to create the unpredictability of his movies.  He seems to be always trying to break away from the traditional way of creating movies.

In conclusion, this interview gives the audience a rare look into the mind of a popular director of our time.  I feel that a director that keeps the audience guessing adds more value to the movie experience by the fact that it is so unpredictable.  This leads to a more enjoyable experience when the audience is truly challenged to figure out what is going to happen next.  The film world is also challenged to create new possibilities, so audience can be kept off balance.  I feel people enjoy seeing a different kind of movie.
